Historic East Coast hotel listed for sale at £1 million

A historic Scarborough hotel has gone on the market for a million pounds.

The Central Hotel at 1-3 The Crescent is being marketed by Eddisons Commercial Ltd of Leeds.

The agents say the 18,376 sq ft property comprises a large end terrace hotel which forms part of o the Grade II* Listed Crescent located in central Scarborough.

The three star hotel had 24 rooms and previously traded as part of a group of hotels situated throughout Scarborough.

Google awarded the venue 4.1 stars out of five, based on 292 Google Reviews.

The three-storey hotel recently closed whilst minor cosmetic refurbishment works were undertaken and was due to re-open for summer 2026, though it still remains closed.

Sales particulars say the hotel featured a ground floor with reception lobby, lounge and waiting area, alongside a hotel bar with seating for 16 covers.

In addition, the ground floor also has a “substantial former late-night venue with its own separate entrance, currently used for storage.”

There are also a small reception office and commercial kitchen, between the bar, restaurant and former night club.

The site also covers 0.3 acres, with parking for ten vehicles at the front of the hotel. To its east is a patio area with seating for 24.
