THIS is what residents should be aware of ahead of a by-election in a North Yorkshire town this week.
Residents in Scarborough are set to go to the polls on Thursday, July 30 to elect a new town councillor.
People living in the coastal resort’s Castle Ward will have the opportunity to choose a new councillor to represent their area on Scarborough Town Council.
The four candidates are:
- Robert Hall, Independent
- Stuart Noble, Green Party
- Susan Rumford, Reform UK
- Fiona Margaret Stephenson, Labour Party
Polls will open from 7am on Thursday, July 30 and close at 10pm.
Three polling stations will be in operation, two of which are located at Queen Street Methodist Church on Queen Street, Scarborough.
The third polling station is at Gladstone and Falsgrave Recreation Centre on Wykeham Street, Scarborough.
The deadline to reissue lost or spoilt postal ballots and for applications to vote by emergency proxy is 5pm on Thursday, July 30.
Meanwhile, the deadline to issue Temporary Voter Authority Certificates is 10pm on July 30.
