A PERSON was taken to hospital after a crash involving three vehicles in a major North Yorkshire road.

North Yorkshire Police is appealing for witnesses and dashcam after a crash in the A1(M) northbound last Friday morning (July 24).

As reported by The Press at the time, traffic was held and queues stretched back four miles – with some drivers reporting delays of more than one hour.

A spokesperson for the force said: “It happened at around 11.19am just prior to Junction 47 on Friday 24 July, and involved a white Tesla, a white Mercedes Sprinter and a white Volkswagen Transporter.

"The driver of the Tesla was taken to hospital by ambulance for treatment following the collision.”

The police added that its officers are ‘particularly interested in speaking to anyone who may have witnessed the collision, seen the vehicles prior to the collision, or anyone with relevant dashcam footage'.
