Four people from Yorkshire - including baby girl - die in horror crash in Derby

Four people, including a baby girl, have died in a crash in Derby after their car crashed into some trees, police have said.

A red Hyundai containing five people left the road between the A50 Toyota Island and the A516 at about 11pm on Saturday, Derbyshire Constabulary have said.

Two women, aged 18 and 30, along with a 36-year-old man, were declared dead at the scene, Derbyshire Constabulary have said.

The baby girl was taken to hospital and died a short time later.

The driver, a 33 year-old man, has been arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving.

He was taken to hospital to be treated for serious injuries where he remains.

The road was closed for several hours after the incident took place but has reopened.

Relatives of the victims have been notified and are being supported by specialist officers.
