Firefighters were called out in the early hours to help free a rather unusual facial hazard – a mini epilator stuck to a lip piercing.
Crews from North Yorkshire Fire and Rescue Service were dispatched to Bullamoor Road in Northallerton at 12.58am this morning, where a person had become entangled with the handheld hair removal device.

The epilator had become caught on an upper lip piercing, which the casualty was unable to remove.
Using small tools, firefighters carefully dismantled the device and safely freed the person.
The delicate rescue operation is one of a growing list of unconventional call-outs crews attend.
