A man who strangled a woman and a sex offender were among defendants who appeared before Scarborough Magistrates Court recently.
Sebastian Michalek, 47, of Queen Street, Scarborough, pleaded guilty to strangling a woman.
He was given a 12-month prison sentence suspended for two years on condition he wears an alcohol abstinence tag for 80 days and 10 days’ rehabilitative activities. He must pay £85 prosecution costs and a £187 statutory surcharge.
Paul Lodge, 59, of High Hutton near Malton, pleaded guilty to drink driving when three and a half times the drink drive limit.
He was given a 12-month community order with 15 days’ rehabilitative activities and 200 hours’ unpaid work. He was banned from driving for 29 months. He must pay a £114 statutory surcharge and £85 prosecution costs.
Danny Toal, of Falsgrave Road, Scarborough, pleaded guilty to assaulting a woman and theft of meat worth £51 from Marks and Spencers in Scarborough.
He was given a 12-month community order with 12 days’ rehabilitative activities and must pay £100 compensation to the woman, £51 compensation to the shop and a £120 fine.
Callum Riley, 27, of Widgeon Close, Filey, pleaded guilty to two offences of having indecent images of children.
He was given an eight-month prison sentence suspended for 18 months on condition he does 40 days’ rehabilitative activities; put on the sex offenders’ register and made subject to a sexual harm prevention order, both for 10 years. He must pay £85 prosecution costs and a £187 statutory surcharge.
Kurtis Nichol-Foltyn, 26, of Cambridge Street, Scarborough, pleaded guilty to assaulting a man in Scarborough.
He was given a 12-month community order with six months’ mental health treatment and 15 days’ rehabilitative activities and ordered to pay £500 compensation.
