Harrogate gallery's role in rare collaboration between two 1960s legends and acclaimed artist

An independent Harrogate art gallery says it’s thrilled to be able to offer an exclusive new art work involving legendary 1960s band The Kinks.

RedHouse has announced that pre-order is now open for The Kinks: Brothers - Fan Edition Prints.

Taken from a new exhibition in London called The Kinks: Brothers, a collaboration between Kinks founders Ray Davies and Dave Davies with artist Christian Furr, these two exclusive editions will be available in two colourways - Waterloo Sunset and Absinthe & Sepia - with each image released in a limited edition of 250 worldwide.

Held at The Gibson Garage ion London, The Kinks: Brothers has turned out to be the summer’s most talked-about music and art collaboration.

Inspired by a vintage photo-booth portrait originally taken by Ray and Dave in 1968, Furr first came to prominence in 1995 when, at the age of 28, he became the youngest artist to paint HM Queen Elizabeth II, after the Queen personally selected him for a commission.

To celebrate the exhibition, Gibson and RedHouse Originals dropped free limited edition prints in the build-up in three secret London locations linked to the band’s history.

Located at 15 Cheltenham Mount in Harrogate, RedHouse is renowned for hosting collections by artists including Sir Peter Blake, Eduardo Paolozzi, Gered Mankowitz and Dudley Edwards.

The Kinks: Brothers exhibition will run at The Gibson Garage until September 6.
