Car speeds off after crash in main road in North Yorkshire

A CAR sped off over and undertaking other vehicles following a collision on a main road in North Yorkshire.

The incident happened at 3.55pm yesterday (Sunday) and involved a red SEAT car and a black Volvo XC40 on the A64 near the now closed Jinnah restaurant.

A spokesperson for North Yorkshire Police said: "A black Volvo XC40 has been driving towards Scarborough along the A64 when a red SEAT has been tailgating, using the horn and flashing its lights, before overtaking along the grass verge of the central reservation and driving into the Volvo causing it damage and to swerve into the other lane.

"The SEAT has then made off at speed overtaking and undertaking other vehicles.

"We’re appealing for any witnesses to the collision, anyone who may have seen the vehicles prior to the collision, or anyone with relevant dashcam footage, to contact us."
