A suspected arson attack in a North Yorkshire beauty spot is being investigated.
Large plumes of black smoke were seen filling the sky at Sandsend by police officers as they were on the scene dealing with an unrelated incident at about 9.40pm on Saturday.
The incident occurred on the headland between the beach and the A174, near the golf course and a disused car park.

Emergency services responded, and the fire was subsequently extinguished.
A spokesman for North Yorkshire Police said investigations indicated the fire was started deliberately.
"We are particularly keen to hear from anyone who may have seen a man wearing a burgundy-coloured top, accompanied by a black dog, getting into what has been described as a white pick-up truck or flatbed Transit-style van in the area around the time of the incident.
"We are also appealing for anyone who was travelling on the A174 near Sandsend at around that time and may have dashcam footage, or anyone who witnessed a person or vehicle matching the above description.
"Additionally, officers are keen to speak to anyone who may have seen any suspicious activity involving two large tractor-style tyres in the area before the fire was discovered."
